The timing is critical!!
Please send an email addressed to sens@capitol.hawaii.gov and reps@capitol.hawaii.gov urging them to override Governor Lingle's veto of HB 1450. They have the votes to do so as those bills passed by wide margins in both chambers: 80% in the Senate at 86% in the House. An override only requires a 67% vote. HB 1450 would extend the same employment protections to the transgendered community that everyone else enjoys, including protections based on sexual orientation.
Please send your message this morning. The bills targeted for override are being decided this morning.
